Jonathan
Chapman had a conventional equestrian upbringing, riding through the OBH North
Pony Club from the age of 5 until he was 16. Following 'A' Levels,
Jonathan was sent to New Zealand where he worked on a sheep station,
mustering sheep, hunting and playing polo. Returning to the UK, he then
studied at Seale Hayne Agricultural College in Devon, where he gained an
HND with Credit in Agriculture.
After working
for a short spell in Agriculture with ICI, Jonathan started working in
building and construction, which he did for the next 6 years. In 1994,
he made a drastic career change and became a riding
instructor and livery yard proprietor. He qualified as an AI in 1995,
as an II in 1998 and his full BHSI in 2000. In 2006 he became a BE accredited
coach and in 2007 he was accepted onto the BE 3 year Coach Development
Programme. In 2008 he became a Certified Practitioner in Neuro
Linguistic Programming for Sport. Ultimately he would like to achieve
the BHS Fellowship.
Throughout this
period, Jonathan has competed extensively in Show Jumping, Dressage and
Eventing, specialising in the latter and achieving top 20 placings at 2
Star and 3 Star level. His best horse to date, Gold Rush III
is a product of his loss making but
thoroughly enjoyable sport horse breeding programme.
Jonathan
represented GB on the British 2 Star team at the European Championships
in Germany in 2005, finishing 14th individually (Team 4th) and he is now
employed as the Assistant Chef d'Equipe to Major Richard Waygood for the
team.
Jonathan coaches
at all levels, for Pony Clubs, Riding Clubs, Private clients and
to International Teams.

Kylie Roddy
is qualified to BHSAI level and is currently training to advance
further. Before coming to work with Jonathan Chapman, Kylie previously
trained with Olympic gold medallist Leslie Law for about 4 years. During
this time she represented GB at young rider level, and was a member of
the 2001 gold medal winning team on her horse Kyrenejenallas Boy. Kylie
then sold Kyrenejenallas Boy to Czech rider Mr Jaroslau Hatla and the
combination went on to compete at the Athens Olympics, gaining
individual merits only 18mths after she sold him! The horse continued
his form with a top 25 placing at Badminton and represented The Czech
Republic at the European championships.
Kylie has
competed at and been placed up to advanced level and CCI***. She also
regularly competes BD and BSJA. Kylie is currently producing several
young horses for which she has high hopes this year. Further details of
these can be viewed in the 'horses' and the 'gallery'
sections of the website.

Victoria started riding at the age of nine at a riding school, then a
couple of years later she got a pony on loan. Financial difficulties put
an end to loaning so Victoria got a Sunday morning job at a riding
school and for the next few years she rode occasionally until she could
afford to start loaning again.
After her A-levels Victoria took a gap year training for an NVQ 2 in
horse care & riding and finally bought her own horse, Lady, a 4 year old
coloured cob, just before going to Hartpury College to do a degree in
Equine Sports Science. Victoria brought Lady on and sold her 18 months
later. She then bought a 6 year old ex racehorse called Harry in 2007,
with the intention of taking him eventing, but soon realised that Harry
needed a lot more schooling first. Whilst doing her degree at Hartpury,
Victoria gained her BHS stage 3. She graduated with a 2:1 in 2008 and
started working for Jonathon Chapman in July 2008. Thanks to a lot of help and
training she finally hopes to start eventing Harry this season.
